Knowing how to structure your answers is really important as well. In everyday questions, you should aim to write out a full answer. In essay style questions you should aim to follow the basic formula of INTRODUCTION, MIDDLE (your points/evidence) and CONCLUSION.

Connectives are also really important when wrting in history. They help you join your ideas together in an interesting way and stop you over using boring and obvious words like 'also'! Connectives are also useful in other subjects where you have to write and link lots of ideas together.
